How important is the black rubber grip on the bell housing from a Ford Explorer 2003?
I have a 2003 Ford Explorer and I recently I had the transmission rebuilt. When I received the truck, I noticed a small amount of oil / transmission fluild around the black rubber stopper in the casing of the bell in the transmission and the older I realized that the rubber is damaged (had a hole in it). Should I worry? Should I take the bus to that can replace the plug?
The cap is whether it can be removed and the torque converter plate and the Flex may be easier to examine. The match should have been replaced if damaged, and it is reasonable to go back and ask that they replace. If the hole it seems to have taken place, then its seems to be defective if have been drilled through, then it is likely that the fluid flow that would otherwise sit and collect in the housing of the bell.
